JRC Fishing Brand Ideal Filming Company

Film concept, production and post-production for rebranded company

When JRC Tackle were looking for a video production company to create a short business promotional film which encapsulated their brand, they called upon DVPR.

Fishing tackle manufacturers JRC tackle have long had a reputation for delivering quality products at affordable prices. A recent rebranding exercise meant the company were looking to convey their new brand ethos, look and style to both an internal and external audience through a short film to introduce the companies brand ideal.

DVPR submitted a number of concepts for a film to demonstrate JRC’s position in the marketplace, with the staff at JRC feeding back on the ideas. Once a concept had been chosen and refined, the script written and a scooting schedule planned, the filming took place on location over three days at a small lake on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Bringing the film together was a voiceover recorded by the client, and some post-production VFX work in After Effects to show the view of the lake from our anglers perspective.

The story of the film revolved around our angler’s dedication to catching a fish he spots in a magazine (added into the page after filming). Eventually the angler succeeds through his determination and his relationship with JRC Tackle. The grading for the film was designed to be over-saturated, to create colours which pop (specifically the red of the logo), fully complying with the brand guidelines for JRC.

Ralph Dijk, Global Brand Manager for JRC comments “I very much enjoyed working with DVPR on various projects. Because they are able to work on a project with only very little prior information, it is extremely efficient and ideal for people who are busy like myself. The end result is of outstanding quality and fits the brands like a glove”.
